When should KYN28 be selected instead of RMU?
Use KYN28 when the project needs indoor MV feeder cabinets with withdrawable breaker trucks, relay chambers and switch room access. Use RMU for compact cable ring networks and secondary distribution.
What voltage range can be covered by KYN28?
The KYN28A-12 ratings cover 3.6 kV, 7.2 kV and 12 kV. The extended KYN28 ratings list 3, 6, 7.2, 12 and 24 kV classes, which should be checked against the project standard.
Is KYN28 suitable for outdoor installation?
KYN28A-12 is specified for indoor switchgear rooms. Outdoor feeders should be checked against RMU, prefabricated substations or outdoor cabinet scope.
How is KYN28 different from XGN fixed-type switchgear?
KYN28 uses a withdrawable breaker truck and metal-clad compartment arrangement. XGN fixed-type switchgear is reviewed when the project prefers a fixed cabinet layout instead of withdrawable VCB maintenance.
